Our Mission

Southcoast Rail’s mission is to bring world-class regional rail to the South Coast of BC. Regional rail would use electric trains that travel as fast as 160 km/h and operate all day in both directions, unlike commuter rail. This is a service that currently does not exist in BC.

With First Nations;
for First Nations.

Southcoast Rail proposes a unique ownership and governance structure where First Nations own the principle controlling stake supported by institutional investors and government-backed financing.

Infrastructure
Minimalism.

Lowering capital costs by using repeatable station templates. Underground station expenses minimized through construction techniques such as wide-bore tunnels and stacked cut-and-cover designs.

In-house
Expertise.

South Coast Rail's vision has roots in the MVX vision, founded by individuals with expertise in transportation and planning. Bringing expertise in-house is key to controlling costs.

Self-
sufficient.

South Coast Rail aims for self-sufficient operations through rail fares, development rights, advertising, and retail leasing. Development rights revenue is key, potentially offsetting over 50% of capital costs.

Invest in Southcoast Rail

Southcoast Rail is soliciting interest from early stage investors to accelerate work towards delivery. If you would like to learn more, including reviewing the business plan and project proforma, we encourage you to connect with us.

Our Approach

We're taking a new approach to infrastructure delivery-- one that's centred around cost controls, sound project management, and gleans best-practice insight from global leaders in linear infrastructure.

A housing and commercial development company that happens to run trains.

Southcoast Rail is a capital investment in the future of the South Coast. By design, it will catalyze housing construction, free up our roads for goods movement, and decongest Canada's western access to new markets.

It's our future-- we know how to build it. Let's do it.
